The Honda HF2417 HME is powered by a 4-stroke OHC V-twin Honda GCV530, 530 cc, engine which provides exceptionally smooth performance and easy starting every time.
With hydrostatic drive the blades will turn at a constant speed, regardless of how fast or slow the tractor is travelling. This provides variable speed control for the perfect grass finish.
The HF 2417 HME features a Honda exclusive pneumatic blade brake control, providing excellent safety features that only allow you to cut in reverse once you have de-pressed a button on the dash. The full LED diagnostic electronic dashboard presents all of the key information so that it is easily presented to you if needed. Not only that, but it also features automatically activated headlights.
The very large 102 cm anti-scalp cutting deck allows the deck to float over uneven ground to protect the lawn. The cutting deck also has a hose cleaning nozzle and anti-rust treatment.
With an ergonomically designed adjustable high-back seat and improved pedal and cutter controls, this garden tractor is incredibly comfortable to use.
The fuel tank is placed at the rear of the machine, to reduce the risk of any fuel spilling around the engine. Not only that, but when the tank is palced at the front, the engine heat will decrease the quality of the fuel.
The Honda HF 2417 HME comes with a very large 300 litre grass bag which has a bag full indicator to let you know when it needs emptying. With 7 cutting heights between 30 – 90 mm, it provides you with the option of choosing your ideal grass finish.
Featuring Honda’s new Optiflow system, combining powerful suction with controlled and low turbulence air flow, it provides exceptional grass collecting performance., which reduces power loss, noise, and grass accumulation.
It also features Honda’s Versamow selective mulching system, which enables you to select whether you want to collect the cuttings into the bag, or finely shred them and push them deep into the soil to act as a natural fertiliser. The best thing about it is that it is all controlled by one single lever, which you can simply push to select your chosen method.
Honda Premium Lawn Tractor Features & Innovation
SYNCHRONOUS BLADES
The better arrangement for superior cutting performance and results.
Honda renowned inginuity has developed a blade arrangement using the synchronous method. With the synchronised timing belt, it allows the blades to spin together constantly at a 90˚ opposed angle, providing a smooth and effective cut and collection.
Better performance all around
With a Honda Premium Lawn tractor you’ll get much better cutting and mulching performance with this type of blade configuration. All you have to do is drive…The blades have seven different height settings from 30cm to 70cm, and working inside one cutter deck, provide a much better airflow for gathering up the cuttings. This is essential for maintaining the high levels of collecting performance and at the same time, dramatically reducing any risk of clogging.
MULCHING MADE EASY
Versamow® is Honda’s very own integrated variable mulching system.
With a single lever, Honda’s Versamow™ selective mulching system will either collect the grass cuttings into the bag or finely shred and blow them down into the lawn to create a natural fertiliser. If your grass is long or rough, you can mow your garden and just collect grass clippings in the grass bag. But if your grass has grown only a little, or it has just rained and you still want to cut your lawn, you can select mulching, and by doing so fertilise your grass at the same time. Or, you can keep your grass tidy and collect the clippings in one area of the garden and with the simple push of a lever then do a rough cut in other areas of the garden. Whatever you decide, you can do it with the same machine, no mulching kit to add, nothing to bolt in.
Nothing to add or bolt on – it’s all part of the tractor’s many features. By simply moving the ergonomically fitted lever you can select if you want to collect grass in the collection bag, or if you want to leave the clippings on your lawn as a natural fertilizer. Mulching helps your grass grow healthy and strong, for a perfect finish.
Adjust as you go
Versamow® is a selective built in system. The simple selection is an on/off lever which allows you to choose to mulch or not even whilst cutting.
BUILT FOR ANY JOB
To do the job properly, your lawn tractor has to be strong.
The strong cast-iron front axle and steering mechanism can take on any terrain and it will resist any damage that may be caused. The built-in robustness of these lawn tractors doesn’t sacrifice steering quality, agility, and tight turning radius which makes them a pleasure to use.
A bigger impression
We’ve also added a curved steel plate to the front of the machine. This is to protect the exhaust and pulley belts that drive the blades from potential damage, if you should drive over shrubs and bushes. The plate is attached to the steel front bumper, giving both you and your ride on mower further protection.
GOING WITH THE FLOW
The key to good collecting performance is a powerful and controlled airflow, so Honda’s design and engineering team specially developed OptiflowTM.
More efficient grass collection
A normal cutter deck is completely sealed, apart from the opening at the bottom. Honda’s R&D team calculated that by using the strong power generated by the engine, it could draw more air in from the top. So by adding more holes at that point, the fans were able to suck in huge volumes of air to improve grass collection.
Powerful fans
Two huge fans attached to the rotating blades draw the air in from the top of the cutter deck. This accelerated air is channeled by fan guards into the ejection canal intake – like a high-pressure blower – taking all the grass clippings with it. They’re our number one fans.
Less clogging
The ejection chute is another Honda innovation that makes these Premium Lawn Tractors the top choice for collecting grass. Considerable time was taken to tune this patented component, and after many hours of rigorous testing it proved to be an outstanding solution – with class-leading results that reduced the risk of clogging.
Larger collection bag
The powerful airflow generated within the cutter deck meant we could fit a large collection bag at the rear. This patented “flamenco dress” design (castanets not included) allows the largest possible mesh material to be used for a continual flow, making it possible to completely fill the bag.
Having a clean, healthy and well cut lawn is not complicated. The key is in a good lawnmower that is reliable and dependable so you can maintain your perfect garden. Honda brings together all these aspects in the Honda HF2417 HME . In its heart beats the powerful and world-renowned 4-stroke Honda engine, with which your lawnmower will always start easily, consume less fuel and protect the environment.

QUALITY POWER IN THE HONDA HF2417 HME
Honda ride on mowers are equipped with a Honda V-Twin engine. The two-cylinder technology offers all the advantages and is key to the robustness of the set: it is built for intensive use, offering greater power and better fuel efficiency, lower emissions and lower noise levels.
The fuel tank is located under the rear cover, instead of under the hood, thus distancing itself from the engine tank. This keeps the quality of the fuel, because it keeps it away from the heat of the engine, thus preventing its evaporation. To improve its durability, the deposit thickness is 2 mm, compared to the standard 1.5 mm.
INNOVATING IN SECURITY
A ride on mower must incorporate the necessary safety measures so that you can use it with confidence and tranquility. The Honda HF2417 HME has them all. It incorporates an actionable safety switch to allow the operation of the blades when moving backwards. Location of the battery on the front, with a tightly closed electronic control unit, exclusive to Honda.
It has an electromagnetic blade brake with easy operation and less wear on the belt, to prevent any possible mishap. The safety is total, because when the user gets up from the seat, the engine and the blade stop immediately, avoiding any possibility of accident.
THE BEST CUT IN THE EASIEST WAY
The Honda HF2417 HME ride on mower incorporates Honda’s exclusive “Versamow” mulching system, already used in its HRX range of mowers, which is a unique feature among other similar products on the market. “Versamow” allows the change between mulching and collection to be quick, easy and efficient, simply by moving the lever ergonomically located next to the seat. This model includes synchronized double blades, for symmetrical cutting, resulting in superior work.
The two blades are synchronized with a timing belt to maintain a 90º angle, which guarantees better collection performance, less jamming and less uncut areas when turning. In addition, the new ball bearings of the cutting housing extend their useful life, while improving the robustness of the cutting system. The new steel belt guide reduces the possibility of slippage and makes it much more durable.
HYDROSTATIC CHANGE
The Honda HF2417 HME mower is equipped with hydrostatic change, which allows to vary the speed of advance to the needs of the work and the difficulty of the land, only by moving a foot pedal. With hydrostatic transmission, your ride on mower will work similarly to a car with automatic transmission.
With the engine running, you start and adjust the forward speed according to the terrain conditions, simply with the pressure of the foot on the pedal. The reverse pedal is perfectly differentiated to avoid accidents due to maneuvering errors.
THE BEST COLLECTION QUALITY
If you choose to collect your grass clippings, you should know that the Honda HF2417 HME ride on mower incorporates the exclusive “OptiFlow” system, which offers the best Honda pick-up performance even in the most demanding conditions. “OptiFlow” combines a powerful aspiration with turbulence control , to reduce power loss, noise and traffic jams.
The air intakes through holes in the upper part of the cutting platform and the increase in speed provided by the fans located on the blade, move the grass towards the expulsion efficiently. A large cone-shaped ejection duct minimizes the risk of obstruction; and the Honda patented pickup bag with skirts provides greater air flow, facilitating its full filling.
